In an unearthed interview during the Avengers: Infinity War promotions, Spider-Man star Tom Holland seemingly reveals a major Avengers 4 spoiler.
Tom Holland’s blabbermouth is so legendary that Marvel took special precautions with him so that he doesn’t spoil important plot points. Both Marvel and Holland have made tongue-in-cheek jokes at the expense of his inability to keep secrets, with Marvel even releasing a special video ahead of Avengers: Infinity War in which they’d taped his mouth shut. They even framed the title reveal for the next Spider-Man movie as if it were accidentally revealed by Holland.
Keeping all this in mind, an old interview of his, talking about something as mundane as delivering lines, has been shared widely online for the apparent spoiler Holland blurts out.
When asked if he finds some his lines difficult to deliver, the actor, who was promoting Infinity War with Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch, said a very interesting thing. “He has the most difficult lines though. He has to talk about so much Quantum Realm stuff. I just have to talk about, ‘Yeah, man, that’s awesome!’ So mine is easy but his is so difficult!”
Those of you who’ve seen Infinity War would know that Cumber batch barely talks about the quantum realm in the film. In fact, the concept has been mostly restricted to the Ant-Man movies so far, with Ant-Man and the Wasp introducing the idea in the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. It has long been rumored that the key to bringing back the dead Avengers lies in exploring the quantum realm.
And since both Avengers films were shot back-to-back, it is very likely that Doctor Strange – who is the only one to have seen every possible outcome of the superheroes’ battle with Thanos play out – explains the finer details of the quantum realm.
Avengers 4 is scheduled for a May 2019 release and will serve as a grand conclusion to the MCU as we know it. Set pictures, an unofficial synopsis and other tidbits from the film suggest that time travel and alternate dimensions will play an important role.
