HD Deve Gowda, the leader of the Janata Dal-Secular and Janata Dal Secular, expressed the possibility of mid-term elections in the state of Bangalore. He said, ‘There is no doubt that mid-term elections can be held. He said he would support us for five years but now look at his behavior. Our people are smart. ‘
Devgowda said, ‘I did not say that this coalition should be. I did not say that this coalition should be. I am still saying and I will say tomorrow too. The Congress came to us and said that whatever happens your son will become the Chief Minister. At that time, I did not know whether there was a consensus among all the leaders or not. It seems that the Congress has lost its strength after the Lok Sabha elections. ”
The former Prime Minister said, ‘There is no threat from our side. I do not know how long this government will remain. The government’s stand is not to the Kumaraswamy but in the hands of the Congress. We have given one of our places in the cabinet. As we said, we did all that. The public is watching the kind of behavior of the Congress. ‘
He made important disclosures about the coalition in Karnataka. Devgowda said that he wanted to see senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge as the Chief Minister. He said that I was like the glue for coalition. Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi sent Kirti Azad and Ashok Gehlot to Bangalore. Where all three of us held the meeting.
The JDS leader said, ‘After this Siddaramaaya, Kharage, Muniyappa and God came. I told them that Kharag should be made the chief minister. On this, Kharge said that if the Congress is willing to do it, I am ready for it. After that I took a call from Azad and told Rahul that Kharag should be made the chief minister. Azad said that the Congress wants to make Mr. Kumaraswamy the only Chief Minister to be the Chief Minister. I obeyed them and went home. ‘
Well this is not the first time that there is a possibility of mid-term elections in the state. Earlier, BJP’s Karnataka chief and former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa also said that the elections will be held prematurely. The Congress and the JDS coalition in the state are running the government together. Many times the news of this government being unstable keeps coming. For which the BJP is held responsible. Earlier on 20th June, Devgowda met Congress President Rahul Gandhi and said that he is hurt by the statements made by some leaders of both parties regarding the Congress and JDU coalition government in Karnataka.
