The Allahabad High Court has issued notice to the Congress party on the announcement of giving Rs 72 thousand annually to the poor in the Congress manifesto in the Lok Sabha elections. The party has asked why such an announcement will not come in the category of bribing voters. Why not ban party or other action should be taken?
The court has also asked the EC to respond in this matter. The Congress and the Commission have to keep their side in two weeks. Its advocate Mohit Kumar says that this kind of announcement encourages bribery and is being done to influence voters.
