Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja will finally tie the holy knot on May 8th. The wedding invites were released recently which looked beautiful just like the couple. As per reports, several Bollywood celebrities like Ranbir Kapoor, the Bachchans, Varun Dhawan are expected to attend the grand ceremony.
After going steady for a long time, the couple will be finally getting hitched and begin their happily ever after. Reports cite that it will be a traditional wedding post which the families will host a party at a five-star hotel in the city. Sonam’s cousins will also be performing at the party.
A few years ago, when Sonam was asked about the wedding gift which she would like to give her future husband during a chat show, she said that she had written quite a few poems, but there was this one particular poem which she wrote at the age of 16. It was called Ambition and she had promised herself that she will find the person that she is going to be with, and she is going to give him that poem. Sonam Kapoor also revealed that the day she gets married the poem will be with that man and she’ll say that this is what she wanted her life to be like and hopefully, she and her husband can work together towards this.
Sonam Kapoor’s fiancé Anand Ahuja is a Delhi-based entrepreneur who owns a clothing brand. His grandfather Harish Ahuja owns India’s largest export house and the Ahuja family stays in a plush bungalow which is worth Rs. 173 crores. The wedding ceremony will take place at Sonam Kapoor’s aunt Kavita Singh’s residence and will be an afternoon wedding between 11 am to 12:30 pm. Sonam and Anand will exchange garlands at the temple in the bungalow.
The day is finally arriving when Sonam Kapoor and beau Anand Ahuja take the plunge on May 8, in the presence of family and friends. As stated by the Kapoor and Ahuja families in a formal statement, the wedding festivities will be a private and intimate affair. With the festivities getting underway before the big day, pictures doing the rounds online give us a glimpse of the couple’s floral and summer themed invitations.
According to reports, these are allegedly the e-invites that have been sent out to near and dear ones. It had been reported that Sonam and Anand wanted to take the green route and ditch paper invitations for personalised e-cards with their guests’ names embossed on it.
Going by the pictures, the families have requested the presence of their guests for three functions – the Mehendi ceremony, wedding and a party. The dress code for the three days ranges from Indian festive shades of white to traditional Indian attire and Western formals.
